Firewire Machado Gallery Large Twin Keel Fin

The Firewire Machado Twin Keel Gallery Edition is Rob Machado's latest interpretation of a true Twin Keel, combining the drive, speed, and hold of a traditional keel with a looser, more responsive, performance-oriented feel. Originally designed for the Firewire Too Fish, these fins deliver the effortless flow of a classic fish while allowing surfers to attack the pocket and make quicker direction changes.

Rob Machado refined the traditional keel concept by moving away from extremely wide bases and adding more curve through the trailing edge. The result is a fin that maintains excellent hold and stability through fast sections while releasing more easily when tighter turns, pivot, and manoeuvrability are required.

The foil plays an important role in creating this balance. The Machado Twin Keel Gallery Edition generates plenty of drive when accelerating through fast sections while remaining dynamic and responsive in the pocket. This allows surfers to draw long, flowing lines while still performing tighter turns and quick transitions without the overly tracky feeling associated with some traditional keel fins.

Although originally developed around the Too Fish, versatility was a key part of the design. Rob Machado also uses this template in models such as the Sunday, Midas, and experimental Twin Fin step-ups, making it an excellent choice for a variety of Twin Fin shapes and surfers looking to explore a more performance-oriented keel setup.
